Changing Lanes

Have you ever noticed that writers on Twitter promote all day long, like every ten seconds. Seriously do they have some service that does that? There is no way any writer would have that much time to spare. I'm not trying to slag on anybody, if it works maybe you know better than me.
My approach to marketing is more along the lines of getting to know people on a personal level, and as of yet, I haven't figured out a way to do that on Twitter. You have like a five second window. I love Facebook way too much I think. I'm now on like five writers groups, and recently I have started trolling back over to LinkedIn. Problem with that is that you are bombarded with emails like constantly. I like to say my piece and go about my day. Laughs. Life is strange because I for one would do so much better face-to-face. Self publishing takes all of that away or does it. I have heard of people doing some creative stuff lately. If only I didn't live in Alaska, I mean Michigan. LOL.

I used to Tweet a lot, then everyone went to Facebook and I joined them. Now, I've heard Twitter is really good for selling books, so I have to be all over the place, and lots of the same people are everywhere also. We're all running around in circles.

I know but like I wrote, it's so overloaded with writers these days. I still try make my presence known over there when I can.

Facebook and Blogger are way better than Twitter for promotions. Tweeting is the new term for spamming.

I agree with you. It's near impossible to get anyone to respond to anything you tweet. I think at this point it's overrun. All my links in come from Facebook. SO much for people saying Facebook is a waste of time. You can develop lasting friendships there.
